Proud Momma Moment!

Awhile back I wrote a post called “Raising the Next Generation of Homemakers”. If you are going against the flow like we are and need a bit of encouragement, then I recommend you read it.

In that post I talked about how our daughter is choosing to bypass college. We have always encouraged our children to be entrepreneurs. As some of you know, a year ago this month our daughter opened her Etsy shop. Within that year she has had over 600 sales and managed to buy a Nikon D5100 camera and just last week she bought this.

She worked hard and saved up enough money to buy her first truck. AND she wasted no time in customizing it.

To say the Lord has blessed her efforts is an understatement. We are so proud of what she has accomplished. She has been diligent and it’s paying off.

She is even supplying a couple of businesses out of state with her products. Isn’t that incredibly cool?

But seriously, my main reason in writing this today is not to brag on my daughter. It’s to show those of you who are going along the same path, that it can be done. I want to encourage other young women to follow the path that the Lord has for THEM, which isn’t always the same as everyone else. Okay, so maybe it was to brag, a little. But who can blame me? :-)

Have a lovely day!

HUGS,

Kim

  7. Our lives are blessed (though not only easy) when we follow God's unique way and will for ourselves. So proud of Kelsey AND of her parents, who have certainly earned the bragging rights, because in the end, God's getting the glory all the way around. :D

    Can't wait to see it!

  9. I'm so glad you posted this. All my sister wanted was to be a wife and mother, but she was really pressured into college. She went two years, then met her husband and got married, and promptly quit. She entered into that marriage with a lot unnecessary debt. College is not for everyone and that is OK. Your daughter is doing amazing and you have the right to be proud of her. Tell her good job from me!
