Friday Funnies

Well my friends it's the last Friday of the month. And you know what that means? No? Yeah, I don't know either. But it is Friday Funnies, so if you got yourself a funny, go post it and come back and link it up below!!

So let me ask you what you would do in this situation. You are in your kitchen and you hear your 7 year old say "Mom, my head is stuck!" What do you do?
a. Immediately run to his side and see if you can help?
b. Tell him to hold on, you'll be there in a minute?
c. Tell him he got into that mess he can get himself out?
or
d. Tell him to hold on because you need to get the camera and take a picture for your blog!

I'll just leave you guessing what I did!

Happy Friday my friends!

Open House!

Okay not exactly, completely open, but we have been given the opportunity to share our little piece of earth with some wonderful new friends.
Not even a year ago my husband and I (well mostly him, I just held things for him and cut wood) built a little cottage. My parents help fund this project as they would be staying in it for the winter, but we got all excited when we thought about how we would be able to bless people with it during the other part of the year.
So far we've had a long time friend and her new husband stay in it for their honeymoon. And just recently (in fact they are still in it) we've had the pleasure of meeting for the first time and housing Jennifer from Through the Storms of Life and her family.
I tell you this blogging community is nothing to shake a stick at. It's real and you meet and start caring about REAL people.
Jenn and I were talking about how it was just so weird for both our husbands to be up for this because really they were taking our words on the fact that we knew each other enough through blogging to trust one another. My husband's only question was "Are they believers?" Because to him that makes them family to begin with.
Needless to say we've all gotten along great and they are having a great time and I'm so glad to have met them.
You ready for pictures? Cause you know I got pictures?

The cool thing about this trip is Jennifer got to meet two more bloggers over here. In the picture below we have Kathy from Blessed Beyond Imagination, Jennifer, Me and Debra from Clothed with Scarlet. How cool is that? And I quickly put this picture in the beautiful picture frame Jenn got for me which is standing along side this CUTE mug, that she always got for me. I mean she came bearing gifts for the WHOLE family! You gotta love that!

Here we are setting up camp! How many people does it take to set this E-Z Shade thing up? LOL. I knew it didn't need MY help!
My son was showing me his "treasure" that he had found.
This is something that washed up from the ocean. A new breed of ocean life I think. LOL! Oy! Where does he get it from?
I love this picture of Jenn and Roger. The waves were strong that day and Roger knows I got a picture that I'm holding for blackmail! LOL. Let's just say, "Is there a plumber in the house?" LOL
Here my husband is giving some fishing pointers to Debra's son Josh! He actually caught on pretty quick to throwing the cast net!
This next picture is just funny. As we were all packed up and ready to go, tarpon (that's a really really large game fish) started jumping out of the water and bait fish were everywhere. So my husband grabs his pole and starts running down the beach after them. So here we are looking out at the ocean for the tarpon while my husband runs the beach. (You can see him in the right side of the picture! ) LOL. And who said that fishing isn't a spectators sport!
When we got back to the house. I had dinner ready in the crockpot. My sweet friend Debra asks in her sweet voice if she and Jason could run to Publix and pick up something for dessert. Sure, I said. Thinking maybe some cookies or something. NO! They came back with, ice cream, cookies, 2 cakes, a small pie, a strudel, AND two things of doughnuts! Look closely on the table and you can see it all! Have mercy!
I'm sad to see Jenn and her family go. It has been such a pleasure getting to know them. But we have now become Real Live Friends!!
And thus ends a jammed packed month, full of birthdays, cake, lake fun, cake, beach fun, cake, boat fun, cake, friends ..............and cake! If you missed this month of fun on my blog and need a smile or two, feel free to go back and check it all out!!
HUGS!!!

This is too cool!!!

My friend Kathy showed this on Facebook but I had to share with you all. It is so cool!
If you close your eyes you wouldn't think that it was actually people doing this!
Enjoy!

What I Learned This Week!

Do you think you can take another week of what I've learned? I mean I don't want to overwhelm you with this mind blowing stuff. Just chew on what you can and leave the rest for later.

This week I learned that....

1. ...blogland truly is a place that you can meet friends. (Even if our husbands still think it's a little weird!)

2. ....I'm obviously not sick of cake yet. Though this cake was not in any way related to my birthday like the first 3, it somehow still appeared when Debra and her husband set out to just get a "little" something for dessert last night. They came back with 2 cakes, doughnuts, ice cream, cookies, pie, and a strudel. Oy! They took their mission seriously! LOL

3. ....I can let go of things having to be perfect and just have fun.

4. ....my 4 year old will ultimately have to go "potty" while at the beach and is now all sandy and wet without a bathroom in site. (Yes, I ended up walking him home so he could go in comfort. With that said, I take off his wet shorts and send him into the bathroom. Oh no, not that easy. See there is something about a wet shirt that cuts off the "signal" and thus the shirt had to come off too. Then come to find out he HAS to have a shirt ON but just not a WET one, before he can "go". I'm sorry but if I had to "go" this would not have had time to take place, you know what I'm saying? LOL.

5. ....that my husband still gets excited when he has to extend the table to fit more people around it. LOL. Don't ask! Okay, I'll just tell you. It's a "new" table for us and we've needed one for a long time and we finally found one and he loves how easy it is because it's a drop leaf table and so he just enjoys "using" something that we "needed". .....it's a man thing! LOL

Okay as sad as it is, that's all I got. I'm drawing a blank.
All I can say is it's been a month full of fun and I've documented it right here on my little blog for your reading pleasure. But if your like me you're probably to busy for that! So I guess you'll never know and probably don't care about all the fun I had this month! LOL (Unless of course you are a faithful reader of mine then you are probably sick of hearing about it!) LOL!!

HUGS TO YOU MY SWEET FRIENDS!

Fashion Sense from my 4 year old!

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not very clothes savvy. I mean if you read my post about my clothes shopping adventure, you know that when someone has to have someone go with them to buy clothes, well, they have a problem. I'm also afraid that I've passed this problem on to my youngest.

Yes, my precious son has his shirt not only inside out, but backwards as well. And what kind of mother lets him walk around like this all day? I mean the humility. Actually he could care less as you can tell by the camo pants he chose to wear with his blue inside out backwards shirt.

On yet another day he choose the "gray" theme. Now I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to wear ALL gray the same shade on your top and bottom. And once again he has his shirt on backwards.
Yesterday, though I didn't get a picture of it (because we were already at church), I noticed that he had his PANTS on backwards. Oh this one keeps me hopping that's for sure. And as long as we aren't going to be seen in public, I just let it fly. Why? Because as I look at him all day long he brings me the biggest smile.
Do your kids have this problem? Do YOU have this problem? LOL

Just Like the Bees and the Beavers!

That's right, I'm busy!

It's been a jam packed July, probably the funnest I've ever had. So much for me wanting to homeschool the children through the summer! LOL. That went so far out the window I may not get it back till September!

But to finish off this fun month my dear blogging friend Jennifer and her family are coming down tomorrow and are staying with us for 4 days! Woo! Hoo! I get to meet yet another wonderful blog friend in real life. We are so excited.

But with that said, I got me some things that need to get done. Oh yeah, busy day today girlies.

I'll be popping up on facebook a little here and there to take breaks but for the most part I'm going to be a busy beaver or bee, whichever you prefer! LOL

What are your plans for the weekend?

BIG HUGS TO YOU MY SWEET FRIENDS!

Stop it! My face hurts!

I know that this post "seems" a little long but it's mostly pictures with a little commentary. I PROMISE this is it!

Can you be sick of smiling? Oy! I feel like I've been smiling non-stop for the past 7 days. I have just had a lot going on and now my face and my head hurts! LOL. Oh, I know! Poor me! Poor Kim that has had so much fun with friends and family that her face hurts. What ever will she do?

I promise that after this post I won't talk about my birthday until next year. But I just know that you want to see some pictures of my birthday right? Right!? Well if you don't then you may be excused, but if you do then hang on!

Sunday was Birthday Celebration #2 at my sweet friend Debra's House.
We started out on the lake, got rained out, went to the house to eat lunch and was back on the lake in about an hour.
Here we are all wet from the rain but in hysterical laughter because of what Debra had just said!
This is the only picture we got of the 3 of us on the tube. Again we were in hysterical laughter. What's not funny about 3 grown women on a tube being pulled behind a boat? I will say that when all was said and done I was the only one left on! Woot! Woot!
And if that weren't enough, put 3 grown women on a jet ski and see if they don't break out in hysterical laughter once again. Are you starting to see why my face hurts? LOL.
And since it's not "All About Me" any more, I'll put some pictures of some others that were there. Here's my daughter and Debra's son having a blast on one of the jet skis. Here's some of the gang on one of the boats.
Here's Debra lost at sea! LOL!
And my sweet hubbalicious wake boarding! Woo! Hoo! Love you baby!
After a long day on the lake we started to wind down at Debra's.
She and Jay cooked us a delicious stir fry! It's behind that bottle of water that for some reason didn't show up in my camera lens! *sigh*
And then they whipped out this homemade ice cream cake. It was so good and as always, when someone else makes it, calorie free!
Jam session anyone? I can't believe anyone still had any energy left. Yeah, that's me on the couch half asleep! LOL
By the end of the night we were TIRED! Yet still had an hour and a half drive home! *sigh*
Um, there's still one more day left. Yeah, my "Actual Birthday".
So here it goes! "REAL QUICK"
3rd Delicious Birthday Cake. Yes 3rd! Oy! Doesn't everyone drag their birthday out for a week and get at least 3 cakes? LOL
Delicious Dinner!!
Best Friend!
Getting presents and a little silly! I know, that's really out of the norm for me!
Not sure if she "really" wanted to give this too me! LOL
While the "boys" were outside we "girls" decided to play a game of Farkle but as soon as I grabbed the camera it turned into this. Us throwing dice at my camera! We actually forgot we were playing and never finished! LOLThen things got a little crazy and well, just don't ask!
And thus ends anything and everything about my birthday for this year!!!
I have NEVER had such an outpouring of love and fun from all my friends. That includes all you who came by to wish me a Happy Birthday at least 3 times last week! LOL.
BIG GIANORMOUS HUGS!!

Head Spinning Stuff!

Oh man! Did I have one of the funnest weeks of my life. My friends and family were joking around about how this isn't even a milestone birthday, yet it has been one of the best! I have you all and my family to thank for that.
But that might be tomorrows post! Today (since it's been awhile) I thought I would jump back in the swing of things, you know get back to a little blogging "normalcy" (well what I consider normal) and enlighten you once again with my great wisdom. Alright, you know me better than that. But who knows, you might learn something.

This week I learned that......

1. ....people you've never met, really can care about you!

2. ....having 3 birthday cakes in a week probably, no more like definitely, isn't a good idea when you are trying to lose weight. (I told you, I didn't just celebrate all week long on my blog I did it here too!)

3. ....holding onto a tube with two other grown women, while being pulled really fast behind a boat, can cause you to break out in hysterical laughter!

4. ...being in the middle of two other women while riding a jet ski can also make you break out into hysterical laughter.

5. ..... red means record and green doesn't on our video camera! *sigh*

6. ..... little droplets of rain can feel like bb's hitting you when going really fast in a boat! OUCH!

7. ....leftover cake for breakfast just doesn't sound that good to me this morning! And trust me it usually does.

8. ....you really can stretch your birthday over the course of a week if you try hard enough! Yeah me! LOL

9.... your 7 year old will surprise you by jumping off a dock 8 feet above the water, with his Dad. All the while completely freaking out his Mother!

I have more but I'll save some for another day!!!!
Are you walking away a little wiser? Okay did you at least smile? Good!
LOVE YOU MY SWEET FRIENDS!!

It's my BIRTHDAY! Yeah Me!

Well did you survive the All About Me Week? It was fun sharing a little bit about me. But I also wanted to go a step further and share something else.
Some of you may or may not know that I am adopted. Yes 39 years ago today a young lady made the ultimate loving sacrifice as she gave birth and said goodbye to her precious little girl. I can only imagine how hard it was for this 18 year old young woman to carry her sweet baby for 9 months knowing all along that she would be unable to care for it on her own, yet choosing to give me life and a chance at a better life by giving me up for adoption. I hope one day I can tell her face to face how much I appreciate what she did for me. I hope that on this day she thinks about me and smiles.
On the other hand, I want to mention the most excellent couple who prayed for months before I was even born, about adopting a baby girl. They had had 3 boys and really wanted a little girl to call their own. And even through the tragedy of losing their 16 year old son to a drunk driver 3 months before I was actually born, they pressed on toward adopting this fat, not so little baby girl with sores all over her body from being given whole milk while in foster care. I am honored to have such loving parents who took me as a baby and loved me like their own and gave me the best life that I could have asked for. The Lord had His hand on my life right from the beginning and knew that He had picked the perfect couple to raise me for His glory. I am ever so grateful for my most excellent Mom and Dad and I want to thank them for putting up with a stubborn teenager who eventually "got it" and now loves the Lord with her whole heart and is thankful for the life she was given.
Does anyone else need a tissue? Gosh, I didn't mean to get so emotional on ya! LOL.
I will now lighten it up a little with some pictures of Mwah, growing up! Enjoy.

Not sure how old I was here. I'm guessing like 1 or 2? Do you love the hair?

Me and our boxer Bruno! Age 5?
Me and our doberman Bridgette. Age around 10.
Sweet 16 right here. And yes that is a Chocolate Cake with Peanut Butter frosting. My passion stems even way before this! LOL.
I'm around 17 here and thinking I am soooo cool. Oy! Whatever!
Jump ahead to around 25 years old and on top of the world because I have met my husband to be.
Fishing with my honey. Age around 28?
Let's just jump ahead 11 years and skip all the really bad pregnancy and after pregnancy photos! LOL. Here I am actually a few days ago on the beach.
So there you are! I survived it. You survived. I'm so done! Well almost. I had a blast at Debra's and will probably be forced to share about that real soon.
Love you you my sweet friends!
