30 Day Photo Fun! Day 16-Mason Jar Day 17-Bokeh

I hope some of you are enjoying my little Photo Fun Challenge. It’s been great fun! I’ll be back to regular blogging very soon!

Did I mention I’m doing all of these photos with a Canon Power Shot A3100? The reason I mention this is because it’s hard sometimes to capture certain things with a point and shoot camera. If I were more seasoned on Photoshop that might help but all you’ve seen so far is just me snapping a pic and posting it. I’m simple that way. Hee! Hee!

So without further ado Day 16.

I love mason jars. They are so useful. I had a hard time decided just what kind of picture I wanted to take but finally settled for these.

I bet you can almost taste that sweet iced tea!

Then I wanted a little color so I shot this one.

I love crayons!

Next is Day 17-Bokeh

I’m not the greatest at taking Bokeh shots. Especially with a point and shoot camera but here’s what I got.

The more I look at this picture the more I love it. I can’t really explain why.

30 Day Photo Fun! Day 14-Someone you love Day 15-Action

Day 14 of the photo challenge was another no brainer. I picked my hubbalicious for my subject!

He rocks my world. He melts my butter. He’s the chocolate to my peanut butter. I love him with all of my heart! So here he is.

Someone I Love!

Day 15 is ACTION!

Most of you will laugh because you know of my love of line drying so I of course had to use this opportunity of clothes flapping in the wind as my next subject!

It also didn’t hurt that I was doing my sons’ laundry this day, so there were no granny panties waving the white flag of surrender. That’s not so pretty. Ha! Ha! Oh you know you’d love to be my neighbor. Hee! Hee!

30 Day Photo Fun! Day 13 Reminds You of Childhood

When I saw today’s challenge I knew exactly what I was going to take a picture of.

This!

Yes folks, this is MY original Lite-Brite, in it’s original box and I’m pretty sure it even has the original light bulb in it. I was 8 when my parents bought me this for Christmas. I played with this ALL the time.

Believe it or not there were even some unused papers in there so I could write this Happy Birthday sign to my son who is turning 9 today. So it worked out perfect!

I took this picture in the closet so you could see it better!

I loved my Lite-Brite!

And for your viewing pleasure. The original commercial. Boy did THIS bring back the memories. Enjoy!

30 Day Photo Fun! Day 11 Silhouette and Day 12 Sun Flare

I figured I’d combine two days at a time to spare my subscribers extra emails.

These two were tough but I manage to capture a couple of pictures for these challenges.

Here is my silhouette picture. By the time I took this picture the only thing that I could use for a subject was one of our trees as the sun was already pretty high up in the sky. That and it’s all I could think of at the time. LOL!

I know a lot of people are taking pictures of their shadows but my understanding of a silhouette is that the light is behind the subject therefore making the subject in front appear black.  I’m by no means a professional so don’t go by me.(Donna what are your thoughts?)  But this is what I captured.

Day 12 is a Sun Flare. This was hard for me to, as the only thing outside willing and raising it’s hand to volunteer, was yet another tree. Thank you Mr. Maple for your cooperation.

30 Day Photo Fun! Day 10- Animal

I really wasn’t sure what kind of animal I would be able to capture today. In desperation I would have hunted down an ant pile in order to capture an ant but I didn’t have to do that. Thank goodness.

As my daughter was out in the garden she heard something under the green pepper plants and lo and behold this fella came rushing out at her. Okay maybe he didn’t come rushing out but there he was the perfect specimen for today’s challenge.

Say “CHEESE”

This is one of a few box turtles that make our yard their home. I have a smaller one that comes up on the front porch and eats the dead bugs. I’ve named him Simon. LOL!

Isn’t he cute?

Goodbye Mr. Turtle. Back in the garden you go.

30 Day Photo Fun! Day 9- Fruit

I didn’t have a big selection of fruit for this picture so I just used what I had.

I started out with grapes, an apple and a banana.

But I just wasn’t feeling it. I was thinking maybe it was the banana that was throwing it off so I moved the banana AWAY from the other fruit. Still not feeling it.

So I got rid of the banana completely.

Much better. LOL!

I think it was the awkward shape of the banana that made it hard to “blend” in with the other fruit. Sorry Mr. Banana, you’re not making the cut! LOL!

What’s your favorite fruit? Mine are apples and strawberries!

30 Day Photo Fun! Day 8- Sunset

This was a toughy as I had to remember to do this last night so I could post it today. I managed to remember but I was racing the little black cloud that was creeping into the picture from the right hand side.

So between the trees in the backyard and the little black cloud, this is as good as it got.

But while I was standing there I heard some commotion on the other side of the house. This is what was causing it.

It’s a little blurry but I’m sure you’ll see him.

It’s a hawk sitting on our fence. The mocking birds were going CRAZY. They would dive bomb him and he’d just sit there. In this picture he turned to look at me and I have to admit I was a little nervous. LOL! They are so much bigger than you think and I didn’t want to get any closer. A blurry picture was fine with me.

30 Day Photo Fun! Day 7 – High Angle

I wasn’t really sure where to go with this so I just started standing on chairs and taking pictures. I know I know, VERY imaginative.

I was initially trying to get a high angle of one of my hutches but instead I captured this precious moment between my husband and son. My hubby was outside painting trim and my son ran over there to see and this is what I captured. I love it.

When this day came around I had a hard time deciding what books to take pictures of. I have so many.

But I thought I would show you what sits on my coffee table right now because these are usually the books we love the most at any given time.

But these books here have a special place in my heart because they represent my favorite time of year! CHRISTMAS!!

30 Day Photo Fun! Day 5- Breakfast Today

I’m really enjoying this photo challenge. It’s fun and gets me behind the camera each day.

My son asked me last night if I would make pancakes for breakfast this morning, so it worked out that it’s breakfast day today for the challenge. Cause usually I have a bowl of oatmeal and oatmeal doesn’t smile and say cheese like pancakes do.

30 Day Photo Fun! Day 4- Clouds

The weather here in Florida has been hot, dry and dusty. So when I saw that today’s photo was supposed to be of clouds I ran outside yesterday to capture a picture. Mainly because I never know if there are going to be clouds in the sky or not and at that moment there were some nice fluffy clouds floating by.

This was taken in our backyard.

I like the contrast between the green trees and the blue sky. It just makes the clouds look more brilliant.

Then I had to do from the ground looking up kind of view, because it’s how I roll and my day isn’t complete unless one of my children looks at me like I’m weird.

Clouds are so pretty. I remember when I was about 4, I would lay on a blanket with my Mom, when we lived in Maine and we would make pictures out of the clouds. Did you ever do that? I still do. In fact, in the first picture I saw a dinosaur and a fish. LOL!

I had to think about this one. There were so many directions I could have gone but I finally decided on this one.

These are the hands of the members of my family from youngest on top to my husbands on the bottom.

I love what this picture represents to me. It reminds me that we are a team, a family unit. That we are there for each other.

30 Day Photo Fun! Day 2 My Favorite Shoes

I don’t have shoes like most women have shoes. I’m not a “shoe shopper”. I do however have a thing for flip flops. Since I live in sunny Florida they have become my staple of footwear. I even have the flip flop tan to prove it. LOL!

Clearly it’s getting out of hand though. This is my floor and only half of my flops.

I just kind of walk out of them and walk into a new pair. The other half are actually in the closet. I have a rotating system that nobody can mess with. Ha! Ha!

But my favorite favorite pair are these.

They are from Yellow Box and are VERY comfortable, not to mention cute!

So there you have it. My favorite “shoe”.

30 Day Photo Fun! Day 1 Self Portrait

I stumbled across this photo challenge from one of my friends blogs and thought it would be fun to do. This is only the first day so you can join in if you feel so inclined.

So day 1 is a self portrait. Ugh! Raise your hand if you feel like a dork taking a picture of yourself? *raising hand frantically*

My first thought was to take a picture of me when I first woke up this morning, which I did and then quickly deleted. You’re welcome!

Then I thought about doing this. Ha! Ha!

But then I decided to throw caution to the wind and take an actual picture of me.

I don’t know who this person is. She looks way older than the person taking the picture. LOL!

There you have it. Straight out of the camera, self portrait, of yours truly!

Brenda's Photo Challenge -Sweets

Well if it weren't for Donna's comment this morning I would have totally forgot about today's photo challenge lol. Like I said in my post earlier this morning, we've been busy this week, but I was able to find some wonderful pictures of sweets to share for you.

This is a brownie I made for my family for Valentines Day! Around the edge are thumbprint cookies. It was delicious!

This is my daughters very first cake. All CHOCOLATE!!!

This is my favorite cake in all the world that I make for myself on my birthday. It's not the prettiest thing in the world but it sure does taste good.It's a chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting. I have the recipe posted I think.
This cake my best friend made for her hubby for his birthday. We got to indulge in it and it was as good as it looks.

Photo Challenge -Numbers

Karen M. Over at Love and Engraved is hosting this weeks photo challenge. The theme is numbers. The names are listed on her side bar make sure you go check every one's out. But check my out first lol.

This first picture is one I took at a local High School on my birthday. I thought it was perfect lol!
This picture is just one of my very favorite number. I always loved the number 13. I remember 13 was my favorite age. I guess because you are officially a "teenager". Okay not very original but it was what came to mind.
The last picture is of what time it is right now. How would we tell time without our precious numbers on the clock (or in some cases a little dot that you can barely see, representing a number) And I love my Larry Boy clock lol.
There you have it. I'm going to go check out some others and see how different they all are.
