I Used To Get Comments!

As I was going through past posts trying to organize them so they are easier for you (and me) to find, I started reading some and realized I used to get 15-25 comments a day on average. What’s going on? Have I gotten dull? Have you outgrown me?  Have I lost my zip? I know! You think Blogging is so 2 years ago and only FB now?

I still leave comments. Granted I can’t read everybody’s posts every day (but I do look)and if you have something one day that tickles my fancy then I definitely stop, read and comment.

I admit that since we moved I’ve lost a little bit of my groove, but I’m starting to feel it again. The ol’ wheels are turning once again and the Zippity Do Da song is ringing through my brain.

The fact is, I miss you gals. I always said that I have the best commenters in the blogging world. You are always so full of insight and wit! I read every comment and you always seem to bring a smile to my face! I just wanted you to know that.

Just Wondering about the Green Links

Is anyone else getting random green links in their posts using words they've written? My daughter pointed it out to me. How are they doing that and how can I make it stop? If you see a green link with two lines underneath it, it wasn't linked by me and I advice that you don't click it. If anyone has a solution for this please let me know. I've noticed it on a lot of other blogs as well, so I know it's not just me. Weird!

Update: The green links are messing with my mind. LOL! Sometimes they are there and sometimes they are not. Oy! Well just beware regardless because they were there yesterday on quite a few blogs. *sigh*

Wrapping it Up!

Well our “official” Summer Fun is coming to an end. No that doesn’t mean we stop doing fun things, it just means that I don’t have daily activities planned any more.

We did have a blast this Summer and we had fun filling up our wall with different things we did, that you can actually hang up on a wall.  (If you missed my Summer Fun posts and want to gain some last minute ideas, all you have to do is put in a search for Summer Fun in my search bar and it will pull them up. )

It was fun having an Intentional Summer and I will be doing it again next year.

This week I’m going to start planning our homeschool year. I don’t plan the whole year in one sitting but I like to plan a week or two in advance. My hope is to get started with school next Monday. We’ll see how it goes.

Other than that I don’t have a whole lot going on, which I like. It leaves me time to do things like this.

 

Color. I posted this on FB a couple days a go. My son wanted to color so I broke out MY brand new box of crayons and set us up with some coloring pages. After 2 mins. he was done and I was left sitting at the table, by myself, coloring my Garfield picture. I must be getting old because my right arm actually started to cramp up a little. LOL!

I’ve got some fun projects to show you. So stay tuned for those. I’m also going to show you a way to get free books.

Never Blog Right Before……You Know

Don’t ever think you can come up with a blog post that won’t come out sounding like a pity party if you are close to getting “your friend” this month.  Just walk away for a day or two until your hormones have a chance to coincide with your brain and the two are getting along again.

Because if you do try to blog, you’ll find yourself saying things like.

• Nobody reads my blog, I think I’ll just make it private.
• My blog is stupid.
• Who really cares about what I do any way?
• I’ve been blogging for 4 years and still don’t have a niche’. Why can’t I find a niche? Everyone else has a niche’.  Where’d they find their niche?
• Why doesn’t everyone realize that I’m just as entertaining as the Pioneer Woman and cook just as good and live the same life just without the cows and pasture and cowboys and Bassett hounds and kitties and money and……

Do you see how ugly this can get? Just walk away. Don’t do it. Go take a hot shower and relax. Come back in a couple days and start fresh.

Aren’t you glad you stopped by today for this mind blowing advice?

The Birthday is Done for the Year!

First I want to thank you all for your birthday wishes. They really do mean a lot to me. I take each one to heart. Second I promise this is it for my birthday until next year.

I really did have a fun week. You can go back the last 3 posts and read about it all if you happen to have miss it. As you know I actually “celebrated” on Sunday, with a small party at my BFF’s house. So my actual birthday was just a quiet, pleasant day.

My family spoiled me with presents and my daughter spoiled me by making this.

YUM!!! I mean SERIOUSLY YUMMY!

So what does the birthday queen do when faced with such a delectable treat?

She eats it for breakfast. LOL!

Hey, you can get away with that kind of stuff on your birthday. I believe it’s somewhere in the Amendments. LOL!

Plus Hubby had to work yesterday so my BFF was taking me out to lunch which meant I would have to wait until I got home to have pie and there was no way THAT was going to happen, so for breakfast it was.

Kathy and I had a lovely time at lunch. (I left my camera at home, so no pictures of Kathy. I guess it would have been to hard to take hers from her and snap a shot. *sigh*)

I then managed to freak out a poor young lady in the bathroom. I don’t think my day is complete unless I completely freak someone out. Ha! Ha!

After lunch we went to Hobby Lobby and I bought mostly Christmas stuff that I needed for crafts. You know how I get this time of year. I’m ready to get this party started.

After I got home my MIL came over to visit and brought me a lovely present.

I stayed up as long as I could to enjoy the last bit of my birthday. Ha! Ha!

Thank you all for making my birthday special.I love my family and friends. You all bring such joy to my life.

They Say It’s Your Birthday…Na na na na na na!

It’s my birthday to yeah.

I never quite understood that song and your welcome for it now being stuck in your head.

I do know two other blogging friends who share this same day of birth with me. Which I always think is cool. So a shout out Kelley and Mimi!

Well since my b-day fell on a Wednesday, we held my actual party this past Sunday.

It went something like this.

The drive over to my BFF’s house, which is where we had my little party.

I rushed into the kitchen like I always do to get a picture with my BFF.  We’ve come to realize that it’s getting harder and harder to get a decent picture of us. LOL! It is what it is!

For dinner my BFF made “Shaw”. It’s actually a form of tacos but it’s nicknamed the “Shaw” because of who taught her the recipe.  They are THE best tacos on the planet.

SEE!

 

I think everyone can attest to that.

After dinner we of course had cake. My BFF INSISTED on putting 41 candles on the cake. I hope she has fire insurance. LOL!

AND they actually lit them. Ha! Ha!

It took an army!

Finally! But I think the flames were starting to get to me. LOL!

I’m just weird! There’s just no other explanation.

*Gee that sure is a lot of candles.*

And there out! And so am I it looks! HEE! HEE!

AND it was yummy!

After cake we played a game of PIT. If you’ve never played the game PIT, I highly recommend it. Although we have no pictures (because we were all busy playing) we did get plenty of video but you’ll have to wait for that as Mikey has to edit it first. But let’s just say we were all a little hoarse after playing.

After that game we actually had the energy to play Guesstures but we were all to pooped to take any more pictures. LOL!

I think the sugar kicked in on the way home. Or maybe it was the smoke inhalation. LOL!

40 Years 364 Days Today!

It’s getting close. Too close. LOL! But I’m determined to make the most of it.

Yesterday my hubby and I were out doing errands and something miraculous happened.

turned into this…

which turned into this!

So lets recap. I got a Starbuck’s card in the mail that said I could get ANY drink for my birthday. That’s a tough decision right there.

I got the Passion Fruit Tea with a splash of Lemonade because it was HOT outside and I needed cool, yummy refreshment. If you haven’t tried one of these I highly recommend.

When I gave the Starbuck’s lady my coupon and told her what I wanted she was like “Do you want the biggest one?” I was like, “Yeah, it’s free!”  And then she was like “Yeah, some people get the small.” and I was like, “Those people have issues.” And then we giggled. But as you can see I had no problem ordering the Mack Daddy. Or in Starbuckian, the Venti!

My hubby got the new Mocha Coconut Frappuccino! But he doesn’t speak Starbuckian so I had to clarify his size for the cashier. He’s so cute! “Uh, I’ll take the middle one!” “He wants a Grande.” LOL!  Anyway it was DELICIOUS!   Hey, it’s my birthday week, he was pretty obligated to let me try it, a few times, to make sure I liked it, A  LOT! (Oh for the love of commas!)

Yay, for more yummy free stuff for my birthday!!

More Birthday fun tomorrow!

41? Really?

Well it’s here once again. One day this week, I’ll be turning 41. I’ll be “officially” IN my 40’s. I’m not sure how I feel about it and I’m not sure it really matters since I can’t do anything about it.

I definitely have more grays than last year and if I wanted to admit it, I probably have a few more lbs. as well.

Most of you who have followed my blog for a period of time, know that I like this week. I use my birthday as an excuse for many things. Things like, “I really don’t feel like vacuuming. It is my birthday week you know.” or “Dear daughter, will you give me a foot massage? I am your mother and it is my birthday and I’m getting old and so are my feet.”

But what I’ve really enjoyed is the random stuff I’ve been getting in the mail.

The other day I got a coupon from Beef  O’ Brady’s. I had never been to Beef O’ Brady’s so I’m not sure how they knew I even existed. But by golly it’s a free meal and I’m going to get it.

So my super duper Hubbalicious and I went during the off hours. It was perfect. There were only a handful of people in there.

I got the fish tacos. They were SO good!

YUMMMMY!

My hubby got the same thing as I did. We do that a lot. We like the same things and neither one of us likes to branch out to far. LOL!

Our total bill was only $8.45. Woot! Woot!

Wrapping Up the Summer Garden!

As most of you know our planting time is Florida is WAY earlier then most of the country. We’ve been harvesting different veggies for months now. We’ve pushed our over abundance of squash and zucchini on anyone that would take it, but we are ready for a Summer break. It’s REALLY hot here right now and not a whole lot of things want to grow in this extreme heat nor do we want to be out in it.

We had quite a drought here about a month back and a lot of our watermelons and cantaloupes didn’t make it. We then had an influx of rain and a lot of them split open and or rotted. *sigh*

We did manage to get a few and what we did get was delicious!

So this will wrap up the garden for the Summer. My hubby is getting ready to turn everything in and throw oak leaves over it and let it sit for a couple months. But watch out, because Fall planting is right around the corner and we have some yummy veggies we want to try this year.

Summer Fun? Tooth Pulling?

I decided that I wasn’t going to join in this particular Summer fun activity. Well just about everyone decided not to participate. LOL! All except for this little guy.

And what better place to pull it, then in church.  Raise your hand if your kid has ever pulled a tooth in church. We weren’t there 5 minutes and it was out. Thank goodness hubby carries a handkerchief in his pocket.

I’m pretty sure little man spent the rest of the service sticking his tongue in the newly formed hole in his mouth. How can you not? 

 

Well, my Summer Fun posts will be winding down pretty soon as I will be gearing up to start homeschooling again in August. (Those of you who follow my homeschool blog I promise their will be more posts this year. LOL!) This blog should be back to it’s regularly scheduled and highly informational posts real soon. *wink* 

Oh and I just received another Gooseberry Patch book to review and giveaway so be watching for that!!

Summer Fun! Pet Rocks!

Do some of you remember the Pet Rock craze years and years ago? Well my family is bringing it back baby! Well sort of.

On our trip to Maine 5 years ago we picked up some smooth rocks along the coast. When I was planning our Summer fun I thought about those rocks and how perfect they would be for painting.

So I got out the paints and brushes and we got to work.

I looked at my two rocks and instantly knew what they needed to be?

Ta-dah!

It’s a cute little ladybug!

And my next rock was a no brainer!

It was the perfect Larry the Cucumber shape. LOL!

My two youngest started to feed off of my inspiration and went to work.
